Four Pillars of success for Trev HST

The Four Pillars Hotels group is planning future work with Trev HST after being “exceedingly impressed” with the hospitality skills training provider.

Trev HST founders Rose McDonald and Kevan Holland boast 50 years combined experience in the hospitality and meetings industry, and have built a reputation for delivering highly informative and credible training courses in a fun and interactive style.

More than one hundred operational and business office staff at the six hotels in the Four Pillars group have benefited from Rose and Kevan’s expertise since a series of training courses began in September 2012. The following tailored sessions were developed to help the team capitalise on sales and revenue opportunities:

•  Conversation to Conversion – invaluable advice on events enquiry handling &      meetings

•  Walk This Way – captivating the attention of visitors being shown around the      hotel

•  Walk This Way Lite – top tips for the operational team taking out of hours enquiries

Four Pillars’ human resources director, Katherine Swingler, said: “The excellent training that we received from Trev HST’s sessions has given our teams the skills they need to be as effective as possible when dealing with the number of enquiries that we receive across the group. The additional training they attended on show round skills gave them the ability to show our guests our fantastic facilities in the best light possible, by following the flow of their individual event.”

Rose and Kevan also ran “Sales Surgeries” to support the employees and ensure they completed their sales action plans. Their future needs from Trev HST and their respective line managers were also assessed.

Katherine added: “The follow up sessions provided individuals with the opportunity to discuss the improvements in their technique and how they felt the training had helped them. As a business we have been exceedingly impressed by the training that Rose & Kevan provided and are already in the planning stage for the next project.”

Following completion of the training programme, Trev HST was delighted to present the Four Pillars Hotels group with substantial donations to their nominated local charities; Vale House, The Bristol Royal Children’s Hospital and Cardiac Risk in Young People. This supported Trev HST’s ethos of being people driven and giving something back from each client to help those in need.

The Four Pillars Hotels group is in the process of installing new bookings systems. Once they are in place, Trev HST will help employees to get the most out of their new reservations software. The sessions, due to take place next year, will also cover the most effective ways of managing bookings.
