Orangery Restaurant awarded its 2nd AA Rosette
14 April 2010
Tortworth Court Four Pillars Hotel is delighted to announce that its stunning Orangery Restaurant has added a second AA Rosette to its list of accolades. This award follows its coveted Silver Award in the prestigious Taste of the West Awards 2009. The hotel was also awarded a 2% increase in its rating, taking it to 76%.
The long-established Rosette scheme recognises successful cooking at different levels across the UK. Only 10% of restaurants nationwide are of a standard that is worthy of One Rosette and above. AA Rosettes are solely awarded by AA Hotel and Restaurant Inspectors. External influences from hotels, restaurants or other guides are not taken into account when awarding Rosettes.
The Orangery’s second AA Rosette was awarded following a visit earlier this month and General Manager of Tortworth Court Four Pillars Hotel, Stephen Cotton, is delighted: “I am incredibly proud of the Orangery team, led by chef Dave Chamberlain, who have continued to add to their accolades with another prized AA Rosette. We hope to build on our solid reputation for our culinary offering, leading to further accolades in the future. I believe that a key part of our success is our focus on using local, quality produce. We have a close relationship with all of our suppliers and, as a result, our customers know that they can rely on us to deliver consistently delicious food. Our policy means that we play a role in sustaining local businesses, many of whom have been a vital part of the community for decades. As such, visiting guests are able to sample a real taste of local produce and put something back into local communities”.

The Orangery Restaurant is a truly unique venue within the grounds of this four star grade II listed Victorian mansion. It was originally built in 1899 as a lavish conservatory that housed exotic shrubs and plants. The extensive and ornate curved glass panels have been retained providing diners with a light and airy experience. It is open for lunch Tuesday to Friday 12.00pm - 2.30pm, evenings Tuesday to Thursday 7pm to 10pm, Friday and Saturday 6.30pm to 10pm. Advanced bookings are strongly recommended due to the popularity of the restaurant.
